Yesterday, September 10, 2009, an alert popped up in my queue which prompted me to address the subject of teaching the history of 9-11.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color:black\">In this Google <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.usnews.com\/articles\/education\/2009\/09\/10\/teaching-students-about-911.html\" target=\"_blank\">alert<\/a><\/strong>.<\/span> The author, Zach Milners, speaks to a program <span style=\"color:#333333\">named the &#8220;September 11th Education Program: A National Interdisciplinary Curriculum, provid[ing] seven lesson plans, which can be taught as independent lessons or as a semester-long course of study.  A website [is] devoted to the program, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.learnabout9-11.org\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong><span style=\"color:#005497\">learnabout9-11.org<\/span><\/strong><\/a><span style=\"color:#333333\">.&#8221;<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color:#333333\">This morning, on the front page above the fold, the Washington Post featured an article by Eli Saslow titled; &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/wp-dyn\/content\/article\/2009\/09\/10\/AR2009091004425.html?hpid=topnews\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>9\/11 as a Lesson, Not a Memory<\/strong>.<\/a>&#8221;\u00a0\u00a0 The article also refers to the <a href=\"https:\/\/ednews.org\/articles\/rudy-giuliani-and-911-victims\u2019-families-launched-country\u2019s-first-comprehensive-911-curriculum-in-nyc.html\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>National Interdisciplinary Curriculum<\/strong> <\/a>and lists six high schools among those across the nation piloting the curriculum.\u00a0 One high school listed is Hollywood High School, Los Angeles, California.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Yesterday my Google alert also surfaced this <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.examiner.com\/x-18425-LA-County-Nonpartisan-Examiner~y2009m9d10-Who-are-911-Truthers-What-is-the-911-Truth-Movement\" target=\"_blank\">article<\/a><\/strong>.\u00a0 The author, Carl Herman, states he is a \u201cteacher of high school US History courses.\u201d\u00a0 A Google search indicates he is most likely employed by La Canada Unified School District, La Canada, California.\u00a0 His approach is different as the article title suggests: &#8220;Who are 9\/11 Truthers?
